AS4

This shark was picked up just north of the castle, on wed 27 Feb 2008. The current was south north, the vis was bad, with thermocline at about 6m. Temp above thermocline was 26, and below was 24. We drifted from Castle to the inside of the northern section of Aliwal. The shark stayed with us all the way.

She has a steel wire sticking out of her right flank. She's quite pushy and spent some time biting cameras etc.

AS2

I only have one side photographed of this shark, but she's pretty distinctive as she has the top of her tail missing. She also has an old accoustic tag at the right base of her dorsal.

She was seen yesterday.

The current was strong south - north, 15 m vis, 26 degree water.

AS1

This is the first shark that I ID'd on Aliwal, distinctive mark on the left pec, scar on the right flank below dorsal. This female seems to be an approachable animal, and doesn't feel shy about swimming close.

She has a skin injury behind the scar on the right side. This will probably heal quite fast.

First sighting was monday Feb 6 2008, central shoal area.
The current was south - north, 8 m vis, 24 degrees.

Sighted on Feb 29 2008 just north of Castle, as we drifted north she became more confident.
Current was south - north, 15 - 20m vis, 26 degrees.
